thanks to EVERYONE who got stuck behind that accident on the turkpike last night at around 3 am! we had a lot of fun handing out stickers to you and sharing a very unifying experience, because traffic jams break down barriers and allow people to see themselves and their fellows for what they really are: irate motorists!

hey guys,
coming up we're playing at ursinus college all the way up in stupid Collegeville PA.
the night after the show we will be popping by for the ursinus radio show to play some more music and pimp ourselves out more thoroughly. check back on the blog in the next week for an update on what time to tune in.

anyway, we've made a friend in the lovely ms. rachel dickinson.
rachel works with the local band scene to help get promotions and shows. she's been helping us get lots of interesting new gigs at interesting new venues, so keep your eyes peeled for new shows.

hey kids! all your fucking sick little dreams are coming true! the chickpeas are resuming recording, effective tomorrow. AND, we have decided to document the rest of this process as scrupulously as possible. we are setting up a Chickpeas Live Webcam! so that you, the listener/chickpeas enthusiast, can look in on our progress, and send us hateful emails.
also, the possibility of a live podcast of the recording may be in order as well.

alright kids who might be reading this: here's the deal.
things have been going super slow with the chickpeas. justin got his appendix taken out so we had to wait it out for practice for a little while. then without a trace, matt disappeared for a week. we think he's back now, but who knows.
anyway, there are three songs that need to be finished for the album. then we set up again and complete the album. this has been a total standstill for a while, and it's getting frustrating. matt or ryan would say "whats the rush?" but, conversely, one would also be inclined to ask "what's the holdup?" once the ball got rolling, it's a wonder how it could have possibly stopped. the excitement about this album among the band was cookin. so far, the material that has been recorded, even prior to mixing, gives off the impression that we got our shit together as a band since the last go round. at some point or another, every member has shown a sweaty palmed enthusiasm over some aspect of the album.
but now, that train has a-stopped a-rollin.
time to get back on track kids.

hey, thanks to all you folks in media for coming to rock it with us. neals band was way awesome and the crowd was a little shy, but those who voiced an opinion seemed to enjoy it. two girls who loved six ways from sunday rocked it, and i believe we're setting up a party with a young man who enjoyed our antics.

a time when a young man's fancy blossoms into an unrelenting, insatiable lust.
also, the perfect time for chickpeas to start booking tons more shows again. the winter was pretty slow for us, what with all the ugly snowstorms and nasty salt stains on the limousine.
but our next two shows are scheduled as parties. don't forget kiddies, if you want us to play your 3 year old brother's buzz lightyear-themed birthday party, we're down.
after these shows however, we'll be getting back to playing various different places around the way.
who knows? maybe we'll even play at your mother's tupperware party.
